Commissioner Edge was elected to the Board in 2020.

#1 Reason for Running for the Board

The Number #1 reason Kenny ran for the Board is to ensure the District is being fiscally responsible, while providing excellent 911 services and supporting the departments’ volunteers and employees.

Prior to Moving to the Keys:

Kenny was born in Midland Texas, and his family moved to Key Largo in 1972.   He is one of our own, as he is a Coral Shores High School graduate.  After high school, he served in the U.S. Army for six years and was honorably discharged.

Professional Life & Affiliations:

Kenny is now retired from Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority after a 32 year career with the utility.  He was in management with FKAA for 27 years.  He feels his FKAA experience and volunteering with the departments will benefit the District Board.

Community Activities:

Kenny has been volunteering in the community for almost 30 years with both the Key Largo Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the Key Largo Volunteer Fire Department.

For the last 28 years. He has served as an EMT/Driver with Key Largo Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and served as the Corps Vice President, Treasurer and Board Member.

Kenny served as a Board Member, Treasurer and Vice President with the Key Largo Volunteer Fire Department, and he was as a scuba instructor for the W.E.T. (Water Emergency Team).
