 Commissioner Conklin was elected to the Board in 2018

The # 1 reason why Frank Conklin ran to be elected to the Key Largo Fire & EMS District Board was to ensure that the citizens of the Key Largo Community were being provided with the highest level of Fire Rescue and Emergency Medical Services available. Commissioner Conklin will strive to ensure that District personnel have access to the equipment and training necessary to provide the best service, and to keep them safe so they can keep the Key Largo Community safe. Commissioner Conklin encourages the public to become involved with the District, and to attend the meetings of the District, Fire Department, and Ambulance Corp, all of which can be found on this website!

Professional Life & Affiliations:

Frank is a Key Largo local, having lived in the Upper Keys since 1977, where he attended Key Largo Elementary School, Plantation Key School, and finally Coral Shores High School, where he graduated in 1990. Frank is an electrician by trade, but has been a member of the former Key Largo Volunteer Fire & Rescue for over 20 years. During his tenure as a volunteer fireman, Frank received the Firefighter of the Year Award on three occasions.

Community Activities:

Frank has served as a member of the Water Emergency Team, Special Response Team, Vehicle Extrication Team, as well as the Hurricane Response and Deployment Team. Frank has also participated in the fire prevention education program, which is deployed throughout schools in Monroe County.
